Die Lai Zhejiang Hotel is a high-end cultural tourism hotel under the Die Lai brand, located in the core area of Santai Shan Road, West Lake, Hangzhou. Situated adjacent to the West Lake Scenic Area, it is a five-star resort hotel that integrates historical heritage, Jiangnan charm, and modern luxury.
The hotel design centers on "the fusion of West Lake landscape and Republican era elegance", aiming to provide guests with a living experience that combines the artistic conception of Jiangnan culture with international quality.
Project Challenges and Requirements
As a landmark resort hotel by West Lake, the client put forward multiple high requirements for the carpet:
• Design uniqueness: The carpet must deeply integrate elements of "West Lake landscape and Jiangnan garden", matching the hotel's elegant light luxury design language. Patterns in different areas should not only share a unified theme but also adapt to the functional characteristics of each space.
• Functional complexity: Guest rooms and public areas require high wear resistance, resistance to matting, and easy cleaning. Guest room corridors need to balance foot comfort and durability. At the same time, all areas must meet the sound absorption and noise reduction needs of a resort environment.
• Delivery timeliness: The hotel opening / renovation schedule is fixed. Carpets must be delivered in precise batches according to the renovation schedule. Some irregularly shaped spaces place very high demands on production and installation coordination.
• Brand consistency: As a high-end cultural tourism hotel, the carpets must meet Die Lai brand quality standards and environmental requirements. All products must pass strict third‑party testing and be suitable for the hotel's long‑term reception (hospitality) and operational needs.
Our Solutions and Service Process
Phase 1: In-depth communication and design co-creation
At the beginning of the project, the Dongsheng team conducted multiple rounds of in-depth discussions with the hotel management and interior design company. They not only studied the renderings but also visited the site to experience the light, traffic flow, and Jiangnan artistic atmosphere.
Using "West Lake landscape" as the main inspiration, the designer team created custom Axminster carpet solutions for different spaces:
★ Leisure area: High‑density wear‑resistant Axminster process was used. Elements such as West Lake ripples and the silhouette of Broken Bridge were abstractly represented. The colors reproduced the dark green and light gray of West Lake. The high‑density weaving provides stain resistance and resistance to matting, balancing visual appeal with durability under high‑frequency use.

Phase 2: Process matching and precise production
After the design solution was finalized, Dongsheng's production team quickly stepped in to ensure that the process for each Axminster product precisely matched the functional requirements of each area:
★ High‑traffic public areas: High‑density wear‑resistant Axminster process was used. The high‑density weaving improves the carpet's resistance to matting and staining, extending its service life.
★ Guest rooms and corridors: Medium‑high density Axminster process was used, balancing foot comfort and durability while reducing carpet deformation caused by long‑term foot traffic.
★ All products underwent 100% full inspection before leaving the factory, including more than 20 tests such as color fastness testing, flame retardancy testing, and wear resistance testing, ensuring compliance with Die Lai brand quality standards and environmental requirements.
Phase 3: Flexible production scheduling and on‑time delivery
Hotel renovation involved multiple trades working in parallel. The carpet delivery schedule had to be precisely coordinated with the construction progress of each area. Dongsheng initiated the "dedicated project team" model, and the production plan was split into 3 batches for precise delivery:
★ First batch: Priority delivery of Axminster carpet for guest room corridors, to support the guest room renovation schedule.

Phase 4: On‑site installation and full guidance
After the carpets arrived on site, Dongsheng's after‑sales technical team simultaneously arrived to provide full on‑site installation guidance:
For large‑area Axminster carpets, technicians focused on guiding workers in pattern matching and seaming to ensure continuous and accurate patterns.
For irregular areas (curved corridors, irregular banquet halls), technicians measured curves and dimensions on site, guiding workers in precise cutting to ensure a seamless installation effect.
