Client Background
Wyndham Garden Gaozhou is a landmark upscale hotel in Guangdong. Opened in 2023 with 222 rooms, its design concept integrates Lingnan culture with international quality. This demanded a lot from the 9,800 m² of full-area carpeting: patterns inspired by local motifs, durability and fire resistance that meet global standards, and perfect color and pattern consistency across the vast installation.
Dongsheng provided 9,800 m² of custom printed carpet throughout the entire property. The original pattern, inspired by Lingnan cultural elements, was realized with high-definition digital printing, serving as a key soft element in the hotel’s spatial design.
Project Challenges & Requirements
As the premier international upscale hotel in Gaozhou, the carpet solution had to meet multiple high standards:
• Design integration: The carpet had to complement the hotel's overall design, aligning with Wyndham’s global visual identity while reflecting Lingnan’s local culture – striking a balance between modern business sophistication and Eastern aesthetic charm.
• Functional suitability: Different areas had very different performance requirements. High‑traffic zones like the lobby and ballroom needed excellent wear resistance, easy cleaning, and noise reduction. Guest rooms and leisure areas required comfort, safety (low emissions), and a cosy visual atmosphere.
•Consistent quality: All products had to meet international hotel industry standards for environmental protection and safety. Colour accuracy, pattern precision, and design intent had to be consistent across the entire order, while also meeting the hotel's opening deadline.
Our Solutions and Service Process
Phase 1: In‑depth collaboration and co‑design
At the start of the project, Dongsheng Carpet’s design team worked closely with the hotel owner and the interior design team through several on‑site meetings. We surveyed all spaces – lobby, ballroom, guest room corridors, all‑day dining, and various guest room types – looking at lighting, traffic flow, and interior finishes. Based on Gaozhou’s Lingnan lychee‑growing heritage and Wyndham’s international standards, we developed a two‑style carpet design system.
★ Lobby & all‑day dining: We used 1,200 g/m² high‑weight wool digital printed carpet with a custom ink‑wash pattern in blue tones, inspired by the misty landscape of Lingnan. After six rounds of colour sampling, we fine‑tuned the blue‑to‑brown gradient so that the carpet blends naturally with the wooden and light‑luxury furnishings.
★Main & junior ballrooms: Abstract geometric line‑pattern printed carpet. The clean lines match the ballroom’s orderly layout, while variations in print depth create a layered effect on the floor, suitable for large banquets and weddings.
★ Guest rooms & suites: Simple sectional landscape stripes with subtle ink‑wash accents – less heavy, more restful, matching the quiet, comfortable atmosphere of the rooms.
★ Guest room corridors:Ink‑wash style Printed Hallway Carpet. For curved corners, we custom‑designed a matching pattern to ensure a seamless transition from corridor to guest room entrance.

Phase 2: Process matching and precision manufacturing
Once the design was finalised, we used Dongsheng’s fully integrated production chain. Each area was produced with the appropriate technique. The entire project used a 1,200 g/m² high‑weight wool base with high‑precision digital printing.
Dongsheng Carpet selected premium wool for its natural durability – ideal for high‑traffic zones like the lobby and ballroom – and its porous structure helps absorb sound, making the hotel quieter throughout daily operations.
Imported high-precision Zimmer digital carpet printing machines reproduce delicate ink-wash color gradients and geometric line details accurately, with precise colour calibration. Every batch is sampled to test colour fastness, abrasion resistance, and environmental compliance, all meeting international hotel standards.

For curved corridor sections and irregular ballroom edges, we created separate cutting patterns to ensure a precise fit and a seamless look after installation.
Phase 3: Flexible scheduling and on‑time delivery
A dedicated project team coordinated sales, production, and logistics from start to finish. Aligned with the hotel’s overall construction schedule, we adopted a centralised production plan and a single batch delivery approach. All 9,800 m² of carpet – across different specifications and areas – was produced in one coordinated run.
At our factory, carpets were packed and labelled by zone, inspected, then loaded onto trucks for a single shipment to the site. A dedicated on‑site coordinator arranged storage and installation plans in advance. Upon arrival, carpets were distributed by zone, saving the time and cost of multiple shipments and handovers. This ensured all carpets arrived accurately and on time, matching the hotel’s concentrated installation schedule.
