Wyndham Grand Tengchong Hot Spring Hotel is located in Tengchong, Yunnan, centered around volcanic landscapes, hot spring resources, mountain forest scenery, and wellness resort experiences. The hotel features over 300 guest rooms and suites, along with dining, meeting, banquet, and leisure spaces, making it a high-end hotel project that combines business conferences with hot spring vacations.

To complement the hotel's natural, quiet, and understated spatial design, Dongsheng Carpet provided approximately 5,000 m² of custom hotel carpet solutions, covering core areas including the hotel lobby, banquet pre-function area, ballroom, meeting rooms, guest room corridors, and guest rooms.

The carpet design follows the theme of "symbiosis with nature," drawing design language from Tengchong's volcanic rock layers, hot spring water flows, mountain forest colors, and western Yunnan regional culture. Through low-saturation earth tones, hot spring warm grays, natural gradients, and simplified geometric patterns, the carpets harmonize with wood veneers, stone, lighting, and the overall interior design.

Project Overview

The demands for flooring in high-end hot spring resort hotels go beyond visual effects. Carpets need to simultaneously serve guest comfort, interior aesthetics, acoustic experience, and long-term performance. The project challenge lies in: the carpet must reflect Tengchong's hot springs, mountain forests, and regional culture, yet cannot use overly heavy patterns that would disrupt the hotel's quiet, understated resort character.

Different areas have different traffic intensity, furniture loads, installation scales, and maintenance requirements, so a single carpet structure cannot cover all areas. Dongsheng needed to match solutions by zone across design effects, durability, underfoot feel, sound absorption, and project maintenance.

The hotel needs regional culture, but not "thematic accumulation." The Dongsheng design team simplified and modernized Yunnan ethnic geometric elements, presenting western Yunnan culture through lines, geometric structures, color layers, and natural textures, making cultural expression part of the interior space rather than dominating the visual center.

The lobby and banquet spaces express mountain rock layers, hot spring water flows, and natural textures through abstract lines; guest rooms and corridors use softer gradients and simplified geometric elements, maintaining a modern feel while retaining regional identity.

Hotel Corridor Carpet | Nylon Printed Carpet

Nylon printed carpet was used in the guest room corridors to meet the requirements of frequent foot traffic, wear resistance, resilience, daily maintenance and long-run pattern continuity.

Dongsheng planned the pattern layout and installation based on the actual corridor dimensions, with particular attention to pattern direction, seam placement and transitions between adjacent areas, helping maintain a clean and consistent appearance along the corridor.
