Client Background

Located in Hangzhou’s Qiantang Riverside CBD, the Anpu Hotel is a high-end business and smart hospitality project under Huawei, featuring a modern minimalist design with strict requirements for durability, acoustic comfort, fire safety, and environmental performance. Dongsheng Carpet supplied and installed approximately 16,000 m² of custom Axminster woven carpet, covering guest rooms, corridors, and public areas.


The carpet system was engineered for high-traffic hospitality use, ensuring long-term wear resistance, acoustic performance, and color stability under intensive commercial operation. This project highlights Dongsheng Carpet’s capability in large-scale custom manufacturing and full project delivery for premium hospitality environments.

Project Challenges and Requirements

As a high-end business smart hotel under Huawei, the client put forward multiple high requirements for the carpet:


Design tone adaptation: The carpet colors and patterns must achieve high consistency with the modern minimalist decoration tone, while adapting to the technological texture of the Huawei brand, reducing visual distraction, and creating an efficient business atmosphere.


Multi-scenario functional complexity: For various scenarios such as guest rooms, corridors, lobby, banquet hall, etc., the carpet needs to balance extreme wear resistance in high-traffic public areas, quiet foot feel in guest rooms, and high-end texture in the VIP hall, while also meeting the adaptability requirements for smart hotel equipment installation.


Schedule and delivery coordination: The project schedule is tight, and the carpet delivery must be coordinated with the overall smart renovation construction progress. Efficient coordination is required to ensure seamless integration of phased supply and construction, guaranteeing the hotel opening schedule.


Strict quality standards: Extremely high standards are set for carpet environmental protection, flame retardancy, color fastness, and long-term durability, meeting the needs of high-frequency reception operations while also adapting to the compatibility requirements for smart equipment installation.

Our Solutions and Service Process

Phase 1: In-depth communication and design co-creation

At the beginning of the project, the Dongsheng team conducted multiple rounds of in-depth discussions with the hotel management, interior design company, and smart system team.


"We not only aligned the design renderings but also went to the site to simulate the carpet color performance under smart lighting, ensuring a stable technological texture under different light environments," recalled the Dongsheng designer in charge of the project.


Based on the hotel's core "technology business" tone, the designer team created custom solutions for different spaces: 

Public areas / lobby: High-density wear-resistant Axminster carpet with minimalist low-saturation geometric line patterns. Stain and matting resistant, suitable for high foot traffic, adapting to the technology business tone while being easy to maintain. 

Guest rooms / corridors: Medium-high density Axminster carpet with ink wash / ripple texture patterns. Quiet foot feel plus wear resistance and deformation resistance. Seamless pattern matching in curved areas, adapting to the restful atmosphere and traffic flow transitions. 

Banquet hall / meeting rooms / VIP hall: High-density, high-pile Axminster carpet with regular geometric jacquard patterns. Sound absorption and noise reduction plus compression resistance and flame retardancy. Large-area seamless seaming, suitable for high-end business and conference scenarios.

Phase 2: Process matching and precise production

After the design solution was finalized, Dongsheng's production team quickly stepped in. Using a single Axminster process with different densities and parameters, they ensured that the product craftsmanship precisely matched the functional requirements of each area.


"Guest room corridors are high-frequency use areas. Wear resistance and sound insulation of the carpet are the top priorities; for the VIP hall, the hand-tufted process achieves the delicate texture of custom patterns," said the production manager. Accordingly:


For public areas, guest rooms, and corridors, a high-density Axminster process was used, with wear resistance far exceeding industry standards, while yarn twist was optimized to improve sound absorption and noise reduction.


Axminster carpets are adopted for customized VIP lounge areas. Produced with yarn twist dyeing technology, these carpets boast color fastness far exceeding industry standards. Even after long-term use, they resist fading and grey discoloration, maintaining perfect consistency with the hotel’s overall design style. They prevent the VIP lounge from looking cheap due to aged carpets and sustain the hotel’s premium brand image for years to come.

Phase 3: Flexible production scheduling and batch delivery

Hotel renovation involved multiple trades working in parallel, including hard decoration, smart system installation, and soft furnishing. The carpet delivery schedule had to be precisely coordinated with the construction progress of each area.


Dongsheng initiated the "dedicated project team" model, forming a special team consisting of sales, production, logistics, and after-sales personnel to follow through the entire process. The production plan was split into 3 batches:


First batch: Axminster carpet for guest rooms and corridors – delivered first to support the guest room renovation and smart system installation schedule.

Second batch: Custom Axminster Carpets for lobbies, public areas and banquet halls – Medium-term delivery, coordinated with construction milestones of public zones for on-time site delivery and project handover.

Third batch: Custom Axminster carpet for the VIP hall and final supplementary orders – delivered to match the renovation progress of the conference areas, ensuring that the carpet was not contaminated by other construction work after installation.


"At that time, smart system installation and carpet installation were carried out in parallel on the renovation site. We specially stationed a site coordinator," recalled the project manager. "With just one phone call from the site, any issue from logistics to installation could be quickly resolved, ensuring no delay to any construction milestone."

Phase 4: On-site installation and full guidance

After the carpets arrived on site, Dongsheng's after-sales technical team simultaneously arrived to provide full on-site installation guidance.


"The technical supervisor stated: "On-site precise control is required for pattern matching of large-area Axminster carpets and carpet installation coordinated with intelligent equipment in guest rooms."


In guest room corridors, technicians guide workers to accurately cut and splice carpets to achieve seamless and natural pattern transitions. For lobbies and VIP lounges, staff focus on inspecting modular carpet installation and edge finishing, ensuring flat, wrinkle-free carpet edges while maintaining consistent pattern alignment and even laying surfaces.


Throughout the installation process, technicians stayed on site, adjusting the installation sequence to match the smart system installation progress, until all areas passed acceptance inspection. After completion, they also provided cleaning and maintenance training to help the hotel extend the carpet service life, adapting to long-term reception operation needs.
